Short narrations of ordinary falls
In November of 2007, after having decided that the relationship of a couple is the best way to tell the stories about ordinary falling, Christian Bakalov and Emilie Camacho begin rehearsing in the studio. Katharina Niemeyer, specialist in semiology, joins them and different characters are questioned – “Dormeur du Val” (Rimbaud), Icar, Adam and Eve, Lucifer; classic figures such as “Le Jeune Homme et la Mort” by Roland Petit, “West Side Story” by Robbins, films by David Lynch and “Twin Peaks” in particular, Beuys, Cindy Sherman and “Les Cinq Sens” by Serres. The choice of a pure narration based on choreography is made. The music is an encounter between two important references of the 20th century bringing together the creation of Spring Folk Orchestra by Gérald Viossat with sounds by Alain Basso, along with Leonard Bernstein “Le Bal” from “West Side Story” and Elvis Presley “I can’t help falling in love with you”- which closes the dance. On stage - Laying down…placed there, fallen from a horse, from high above, in love, pregnant, fall alone, fall on him ? Adam, Icare, Lucifer up close with death or sleep in the hands of Morpheus, in the eye of the cyclone, in the routine, in craziness, she waits. When he enters, we can’t tell if the other one is real or just a fantasy. The couple unites and intensifies its relationship around an apple which was presented to him.
